Florida Senate Bill 172 Action Alert
SB172 is on the agenda of the Senate Innovation, Industry and Technology Committee meeting on Monday, November 4.
Bill Sponsor Title
SB 172 Bradley Florida Drug and Cosmetic Act
Preempts the regulation of over-the-counter proprietary drugs or cosmetics to the state. Preemption by the state precludes residents from enacting public policy initiatives that address issues of concern in their local communities.
Recent studies have found that sunscreen chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate damage corals. Healthy coral reefs are significant tourist attractions to many Florida coastal communities.
Contact your Senator by email or phone and urge him or her to oppose this bill. You can also text the word ‘State’ on Messenger, Twitter, Telegram, or to 50409 on SMS. Include your name, ZIP code and contact information in your message.
